Artist Bibliography
Calis Leung is an emerging artist based in Hong Kong, specializing in performance art and ceramics. Her artistic practice centers on exploring the intricate relationship between body and mind, drawing inspiration from the subtle, often overlooked aspects of everyday life.
Leung utilizes performance and mixed media to express her personal experiences and conceptual explorations related to body perception and consciousness. Through these diverse mediums, she aims to create an intimate and welcoming environment that encourages viewers to engage with and interpret the complexities of the human experience.
Leung holds a Master of Arts in Fine Art from The Chinese University of Hong Kong, a Bachelor’s degree in Fine Art from RMIT University, and a Higher Diploma in Fine Art (Ceramics) from Hong Kong Art School. Her work has garnered significant recognition, including the Franz Rising Star Award, the FRScholarship, the Louis Vuitton Scholarship, the Liu Shiming Fine Art Scholarship, and the Mr. Jerry Kwan Memorial Scholarship. Additionally, she received the Best Graduation Artwork Award and was shortlisted for the Tea Ware by Hong Kong Potters competition and The Colors of Humanity Arts Prize.
